- General Summary of the Program:
Under the Oklahoma Computer Equipment Recovery Act, manufacturers of covered devices (desktop computer, notebook computer, or computer monitor) are required to implement a recovery plan to collect from a consumer and recover (reuse or recycle) each covered device that is labeled with the manufacturer's brand, at no charge to the consumer. Collection services must be reasonably convenient and available to consumers and can include methods such as a mail-back system, physical collection sites, and collection events. Recovery plan information must be posted on the manufacturer's website and provided in the packaging or accompanying the sale of a covered device.
The Oklahoma program does not cover manufacturers of televisions. Collectors and recyclers have no requirements under the program.
